KFV Harvest 2024 is Near!

shawnkahal

Happy Fall! While there may be a chill in the air for some of you, at the vineyard we are experiencing record high temps! Thankfully we are not ready to harvest, but we have been busy preparing for this exciting moment! We dropped fruit last month, in an effort to concentrate all the energy to the remaining grapes to intensify the flavor and complexity. We are very happy with the result and look forward to the vinification process. Thankfully the pigs stayed away!

ON THE VINEYARD

The vineyard looks stunning and we are thankful Miguel has put in much effort and hard work to make it look the best it has in a while. We feel very lucky to have him on our team. He is a very hard worker and really cares about the vineyard. Together we have begun the process of bringing the vineyard into more sustainable practices. There have been so many new actions we have taken since we took over the management and we continue to learn about sustainable farming and look forward to our journey of becoming a SIP certified vineyard and winery. If you would like to learn more about SIP certification, you can read about it here.

AT THE WINERY

We are excited to share that KFV Family and Friends Wine Club members now receive flat rate $25 shipping! You can share more KFV wine with all of your friends and family! The 2024 Fall Wine Club allocation is on it's way and will include our first new vintage release in over two years, our 2020 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and our 2020 Estate Red Wine Blend (Tasting notes below). Unfortunately we were not able to produce a Merlot in 2020 or 2021thanks in part to the wild boars! We have just 18 cases left of our 2019 Estate Merlot, so if you love it you should buy before we sell out! It pairs great with Thanksgiving meals! It's hard to believe we are in our seventh vintage with this year's harvest being number eight!

We continue to be thankful for all the support we receive. Without it, we would not be able to grow, to take on the farming and continue to produce our award winning wines. We are thankful to those of you who have shared Kahal wine and who have had us into your homes to do a wine tasting. It is one of the ways to fully share the Kahal wine experience. If you are interested in doing a tasting, contact us at shawn@kahalfamilyvineyards.com we are booking 2025 now!

Cheers!
